Please pass information along:
If you email your legislators, the
subject line should indicate the
nature of your request. If your
subject line simply says "The Equal
Rights Amendment" the legislator
must then read the email to see
whether it's for or against. A
better subject line phrase would be
"Please co-sponsor the ERA
resolution HJR1002".
For most legislators, phone calls
are still more effective. We all
know how busy legislators are and
they don't have staff, so be brief
and to the point. Be sure to
include your name/address/phone
number in phone and email messages.
